Cascade Nutrition's standardized Milk thistle combines two sources of scientifically researched, high-quality extracts from a well-regarded European manufacturer (www.indena.com). The first ingredient, 240 mg of Siliphos, uses Phytosome™ technology to bind silybin, the most beneficial component of silymarin (Milk thistle seed extract) to a phosphalipid from soy beans in order to increase absorption, thus making them more available to the body. The second ingredient, standardized Milk thistle, is added to increase the potency of silybin to a total of 120 mg of silybin per capsule in order to support proper liver functioning through a number of mechanisms. In Germany, doctors and government-supported research conducted over decades have shown no contraindications, drug interactions, or toxicity. One report did suggest that silybin may reduce the effectiveness of some oral contraceptives. Be sure to consult your health care professional with any questions regarding your health condition.
